Your closet isn’t the problem, and your style isn’t gone. The real struggle is self-trust, the part of you that used to know what you liked without checking a link, a quiz, or someone else’s opinion first. When we say “I just need to find my style again,” we often end up shopping harder, saving more outfits, and buying “inspiration” that looks exciting online but feels wrong the minute it’s in our home.
We talk through how influencer hauls, LTK carts, and one-size-fits-all style quizzes quietly train us to dress by instruction instead of intuition. I share why that conditioning makes so many accomplished women feel disconnected from their wardrobes, especially after years of prioritizing work, life, and everyone else. The takeaway is simple but powerful: personal style is personal, and rebuilding it starts with strengthening the self-trust muscle you haven’t had to use in a long time.
You’ll also get reflection questions to help you hear your own voice again, identify one item that feels unmistakably “you,” and borrow proof from other areas of your life where you’ve already rebuilt confidence. If you’ve outgrown your current style, this conversation can be the sign you’ve been waiting for.
Subscribe for more style coaching that centers self-trust, share this with a friend who feels stuck, and leave a review with the biggest shift you’re making after listening.

Welcome And The Real Problem

SPEAKER_00

Welcome to the Everyday Icon Style Podcast. A podcast that teaches you how to build a wardrobe that supports your personal friend and lifestyle. Closet Chaos and Effortless Battle. I'm your host Tiffany. Let's get started. How many times have you said the following? I just need to find my style again. And you know what that really means? And leads to shopping. Or signing up for all the generic lists that you can find, and nothing seems to work. And technically that's not necessarily our fault or your fault per se. It's because we've become so accustomed to doing what we're told when it comes to our style. You need this, you need that, or maybe you need this. And you know, when you're on Instagram or TikTok or YouTube, and everybody has all the links because now you're watching all the hauls, and you want what they have in those halls. So, what do you do? You go and you click the links and you buy everything and you get it all home, and nothing doesn't work. But before you do any of that, and that's really not a good thing either, it's because you're searching in the wrong places and the wrong thing. Because I want you to realize and understand style isn't missing. Or as I would like to say, style isn't missing because it was actually taken away from us. And because it was taken away from us, we have never learned to utilize the muscle that I like to call self-trust. And you have to have self-trust in order to build your style before you go shopping, before you really have a conversation with a personal stylist or a style coach. And even sometimes before you have to edit your closet, because you have to know what you are need to actually get rid of. And that's really what all of this will boil down to is self-trust. Now I could end there, but let's have a conversation today.

Why Influencer Hauls Fail You

SPEAKER_00

As I said a few minutes ago, I talked about how you go and you see the influencers and they have their halls and you start buying away. And what sometimes you're doing is you're actually buying the inspiration, the inspiration pieces that you'll never wear or just don't work. You also may take, if you're a little bit older, around my age, you remember the style quizzes, and you wait to feel ready before trying something new. Style quizzes were always funny because style quizzes to me always put everybody in the same five or six buckets, but it's never you. And then you'll go and you'll use that as your way or guide to find your style, but that doesn't work because it's not you. Okay, and then we need to begin to think about this differently because I believe that we have been taught to not think about it, to think about one consumerism and capitalism to buy things, but two most importantly, so that everybody begins to look the same. Now, at some times, yes, it is actually important to sometimes not think about your style at all because you're trying to get through life. I get it, I've been there. But as I've been thinking about my personal style and how to build that out, because I am also in the messy middle, just like many of you. And what I'm realizing and discovering is that it's hard to find your true personal style because it's been taken from us ever since we started working. It's been taken from us, and we've been so accustomed to style guides and influencer halls, LTKs. We have carts full of clothes that don't even feel like us or us at all because we're buying inspiration, and it's easier to buy inspiration than it is to really think about building your self-trust enough to figure out and determine and discover and build your actual personal style, and that goes to begins you to start asking other people if something looks right instead of asking yourself. Yes, because it's easy, because I've done it as well, but because you don't trust yourself enough to say this is fine, this is okay. If somebody doesn't like it, that's fine too, because it's not for them to like. We just have to find it. And that becomes a trust problem. So everything we're going to talk about when it comes to style is a trust problem with yourself. And you don't really know when you started not trusting yourself. And in last week's episode, there were a few questions that I wanted you to ask yourself. And one of the questions was when is the last time you felt like yourself when getting dressed? And I promise you, it's probably like five, ten years ago that you've stopped trusting yourself. And that was probably around the last time that you felt like getting dressed was fun, it was joyful, it was peaceful, it was something that you could do and go in, take your time with it because you enjoyed it so much. It wasn't about going in and finding clothes because you would be really quick to just throw something together and it would look the bomb on you, and you'd walk out with fifty with all the confidence in the world, but now you can't find that anymore. It's trust. All of this is going to boil down to trust. Because style isn't something you find, it's a relationship that you have to rebuild with yourself. The same way you've

rebuilt trust with a friend that you may have drifted away, trust with a partner, trusting yourself on your job and your career. We're so eager to gather more information that we don't need. It takes us away from the problem at hand. And I'll use me as an example for this. I have this amazing idea and concept that I have about the foundation edit and helping women look and fear their best through style. And as I go and it begins, the idea begins to evolve that I've had since like 2012, 2013. It's easy to gather all the information, watch all the blogs, get all the coaching you can get. But the issue is I don't trust myself enough that my voice and my message will resonate with someone, and that I have something valuable to say, this comes in with I have to create and build my trust muscle. It is the same thing with our style. We have to now build that muscle again. And as we begin to trust ourselves, that is where everything will begin to fall in line, everything will align, and everything will begin to like flow in harmony, right? So you don't need to find your style, you need to be able to trust the woman who already knows it, and that is you. Now I'm here to help guide you along the way because even to a certain point with personal stylists, they're probably gonna align you and want you and say, This looks good on you, this looks good on you, and you'll become afraid to say, nope, I don't like this. That's the difference between a personal stylist and a coach. I'm going to coach you to build and discover the style that you want. I'm not going to tell you what looks good on you because what look you feel looks good on you, I may not like on myself. That is why personal style is personal. Everybody's style is going to be different. And you have to trust yourself enough that whatever you do, it is going to be good for you and nobody else. So we're gonna have this week a few questions that I want you to think about as you're reconnecting to what has already been true and just allowing it to evolve. We as people evolve, but somehow our style never does. It's time that we begin to allow it to evolve, take root, take bloom, and be okay and be confident in it. And you become confident in it when you begin to trust yourself. Trusting yourself and confidence are the same thing, they go hand in hand. So here are the questions that I want you to think about and consider when you're going through your process of building and discovering your style. Whose voice do you hear when you're deciding what to wear? Is it yours or is it someone else's? Name the person of who it is or people of who it is. What's one item that whenever you wear it, it feels unmistakably you? Just one item. And it doesn't have to be clothes. It could be shoes, it could be a handbag, it could be makeup, it could be a hairstyle, it could be anything. But what is the one thing, whatever you wear it, you feel yourself and you feel comfortable and you feel confident in it. Lastly, where in your

The Trust Questions To Rebuild You

SPEAKER_00

life have you already rebuilt trust in yourself? And what exactly did it take for you to trust yourself again in that particular area? Because you have things in your life that tell you that you can rebuild trust with yourself. We all do, and we have to always remember that. We have clues that show us and tell us and remind us that I have built trust in myself over and over and over again. We just have to remember it, and what did it take for us to do that? Now, it probably won't be as hard as maybe some of the other things that you have had to build trust in, but it's the same concept and the same thing. You have it, you just haven't used this muscle, and this is sort of a I'd like to say more of your creative muscle because you get to be creative in this, but it can be scary. You want people to like what you look like and what you wear, but we've all come to an age where we don't really need that anymore. That we can dress how we feel, and I always say this all the time that it's already locked inside of you. You already know what it is that you want to look like in the style that you want, but you're afraid to actually take root in it and to let it bloom. Because as I said earlier, you don't have to find style, it's already locked inside. You just have to let it out and take lay allow yourself to evolve it and to grow it, and imagine what that would feel like and what it would look like if you could do that.

Foundation Edit Offer And Closing

SPEAKER_00

So if today's conversation resonated with you, or you want to talk about it a little bit more, it might actually be the sign you've been looking for to let you know that you have outgrown your current style and that you're ready for whatever is next when it comes to it. So I forgot to introduce myself earlier in the episode, but my name is Tiffany, and I'm a style coach, and I work with accomplished women just like yourself to align your wardrobe and your self-trust through my foundation edit program. And if you'd like to explore what that could look like for you, I would love for you to schedule a call. The link is in the description of this episode, and it will also provide you with what the foundation edit actually is. And side note, if not this week or the week, definitely probably the week after, I will actually do a mini side quest episode that will go into more depth and detail about what the actual what found the foundation edit actually is. So be sure to click the link and schedule your call today. So, in closing, I want you to realize and understand one thing. You're not starting from zero, you're not even a style beginner at all. You are literally and actually rebuilding trust with yourself, and this is something completely different, and it's literally better than starting from scratch. So, in the next episode, we will talk about who you were, where you are stepping into, and why letting go of one doesn't erase the old chapters of you at all. Because they are your clues, they are your guides, and if it wasn't for those chapters, those prior chapters, you would not be standing here, sitting here, listening to today's episode. So, with all of that being said, have an amazing rest of your day. Stay healthy, stay safe, and I will talk to you guys next week in the next episode.
